United Nations Appeals Tribunal (UNAT) Oral Pronouncements - 2026 Spring session.

The UNAT 2026 Spring Session will be held from 9 to 19 March 2026 at the United Nations Headquarters. On 19 March 2026, the outcome of the judgments rendered during the 2026 Spring Session will be announced by the Judges in the UNAT's oral proceedings in conference room 6. The UN Appeals Tribunal (UNAT) was established by the General Assembly in 2009, as part of the new UN internal justice system. As the second level appellate review tribunal within the internal justice system, UNAT reviews, within its specific jurisdiction, appeals against judgments rendered by the UN Dispute Tribunal, the Dispute Tribunal of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), as well as appeals of decisions taken by the Standing Committee acting on behalf of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Board (UNJSPB), and by those organizations, agencies and entities that have accepted UNAT's jurisdiction. The United Nations General Assembly declared in a resolution adopted by consensus that March 10th as   International Day of Women Judges . The celebration became an innovative novelty in addition to the International Women’s Day . The United Nations General Assembly Resolution sends a powerful message to the world, to all women judges that their work matters and is irreplaceable, to all male judges that the judiciary, both national and international , is not a male dominated field anymore. It is a message to all young girls and women that women judges are intensely needed to enrich the judicial field with women’s sense for justice and fairness, in addition to the legal knowledge . Women judges and women judicial leaders play an irreplaceable role in modern judiciary.
